Red Skelton … How did he know??

Written by chuck on July 31, 2007 – 10:10 pm -

Some of you may remember him but he passed away before many of you were born. Red Skelton was a good & funny man. He also ended every show by saying, “GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS”.

Take a moment and listen to it (from 1969). How would he have known that this is what would be happening?

Red Skelton was a movie star and comedian on television back in the 1950s. He created a number of characters, and his show was watched by millions. He did this on his show one evening–back when shows were live.

Listen very close to the end. Would it not be a pitty if………….

How did Red Skelton know this 38 years ago?

Using the Recycle Bin…

Written by Ed on July 30, 2007 – 11:34 pm -

Are you tired of being asked, are you sure you want to send (name of file) to the Recycle Bin?

To stop this warning message, right-click the Recycle Bin icon and click Properties. On the Global tab, select to remove the check in “Display delete confirmation dialog.”

You also can bypass Recycle Bin when you delete files. But if you are absolutely sure you would like to delete a file permanently, hold down Shift and press Del to delete stuff. Anything deleted in this manner is simply gone. By the way, this also works in Outlook and Outlook Express if you permanently want to get rid of an email.

If you always want to delete files this way, right-click Recycle Bin and click Properties. On the Global tab, select “Do not move files to the Recycle Bin.” This is not recommended because you won’t have a chance to recover any files.

How many of you out there are game players. When you try to play an older game on an XP or Vista computer, do you get an error message something in regard to “Game requires administrative rights to play”. Better yetm you may be able to play, but the game doesn’t allow you to save or open the file you need or XP or Vista not recognize the game disc at all. These problems can be caused by using a limited user account needing admin privileges. KB article 893677 provides workarounds for both operating systems.
